London, United Kingdom, 2014/06/05 - BigHand’s Digital Dictation, Mobile and Speech Recognition technology to drive productivity and efficiency gains for South West law firm - BigHand.com.
Beers LLP, the top 500 full service law firm based in South West England, has selected BigHand as its digital dictation platform. BigHand is replacing the firm’s incumbent digital dictation solution and providing additional mobile and speech recognition functionality which will transform current document production processes, driving significant gains in both productivity and efficiency.
BigHand will be used by Beers’ 40 fee earners and secretaries across its offices in Kingsbridge and Plymouth. Beers will be using BigHand core digital dictation and workflow solution plus mobile and speech recognition functionality.
Beers LLP was established in 1885 and prides itself on its core value of outstanding client service. Today, the firm sees the use of the most up to date technology as an enabler and key differentiator to deliver innovative and cost effective services to clients at both a local and national level.
“The way in which professional services firms deliver their services is fundamentally changing,” says Sue Symons, Beers’ Office Manager. “Clients are expecting speed and agility, so being able to capture and process information and communicate it quickly is increasingly important. You absolutely have to go with technology to remain agile and competitive.
“Having used digital dictation previously, we knew the benefits a proven solution could offer. Unfortunately, we had some reliability issues with our incumbent solution and we also wanted to take advantage of the latest speech recognition and mobile technologies, which led us to BigHand.”
BigHand (bighand.com) is currently being implemented across both of Beers’ offices, with the rollout almost complete. The firm is expecting the technology to provide gains in both efficiency and productivity, with the BigHand core workflow providing the ability for dictations to be allocated in real time to the office with the most capacity. In addition, the mobile and speech recognition functionality will allow fee earners to streamline and expedite their document production process without the need for additional secretarial resource.
“BigHand will undoubtedly increase our productivity, which will in turn increase our fee earner’s earning power,” Sue comments. “In addition, it will give us the ability to optimise our internal resources and provide a really responsive service. But it’s not just about that; technology is a significant investment and whilst it’s absolutely the way forward in terms of keeping the business innovative and agile, you also want to make sure that your investment is going to be protected.
“So far, the support we have had from BigHand has been brilliant and we have training dates booked in for all our users to help manage the transition. For us, working with BigHand is also about having a dependable partner upon whose technology and whose organisation we can truly rely.”
