San Francisco, CA, United States, 2014/04/28 - GenieMD today announced it was selected by IBM Watson team to showcase the next generation of mobile health technology by integrating GenieMD and Watson Cognitive Computing System.
In February, the IBM Watson Mobile Developer Challenge invited teams to design mobile apps using Watson’s cognitive computing capabilities to analyze, discover insights and learn from Big Data. Several hundred submissions across a wide range of industries have been narrowed down to 25 finalists who will use Watson to build, train, and test their apps.
Included in the final selection, in the Health Services category, is Pleasanton, CA based GenieMD, Inc. The company’s award-winning mobile application, empowers individuals to take a more active role in managing their own health and the health of their loved ones by delivering a holistic view of the individual’s health, making health data actionable and shareable, providing highly relevant and personalized recommendations, enabling family caregivers to have access to relevant patient data and enabling them to be more effective and efficient, and facilitating better communication between the individuals and their healthcare providers.
