The electricity generated from Uch II will be sold through a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with the National Transmission and Despatch Company, a State-owned entity. Uch and Uch II together generate 926 MW of electricity using indigenous gas, which is economically viable for Pakistan in tackling the country’s power generation shortfall.
Pakistan has an installed electricity generation capacity of 23,663 MW with natural gas meeting nearly 47% of total energy requirements in the country.
