IPR International, the premier Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider in the mid-Atlantic region, today announced that its newly launched IPR Secure Cloud private cloud service offering has achieved VMware vCloud® Powered status, illustrating to customers that the company’s cloud services are underpinned by VMware’s leading virtualization and cloud computing technology, namely VMware vSphere® and VMware vCloud Director. A member of the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP), IPR provides its VMware vCloud Powered service as a set of cloud computing services across a common platform, supporting the largest set of existing applications and offering distinctive application mobility uniquely available from VMware.
“We are excited to extend our offerings with IPR Secure Cloud, which incorporates VMware’s powerful vCloud® Director infrastructure,” says IPR Chief Technology Officer Kelly Torrence. “We see this as a great opportunity to grow our service portfolio in a way that aligns with our existing offerings, which have been powered by vCloud.”
“The VMware vCloud® Powered program was developed to enable service provider partners to differentiate themselves and accelerate their time to market with enterprise-class hybrid cloud services,“ said Jim Aluotto, director of service provider sales, Americas region, VMware. “With IPR’s vCloud Powered service, VMware customers have a choice as to where they run their workloads, will have assured asset protection for existing and new applications/data, and can also realize all the same or better! levels of security, reliability, and scalability as their own private cloud VMware infrastructure. We look forward to supporting IPR further as it delivers on the agility and performance that customers are looking for in the hybrid cloud computing landscape.”
IPR’s customers have the ability to move workloads from their VMware vSphere-based virtualized or private cloud environment to the VMware vCloud Powered service and back again. This application portability is a key differentiator, allowing customers to achieve the flexibility and security they need while enabling increased IT agility.
With IPR Secure Cloud, clients are allocated a total amount of disk space, compute resources, and memory, which they can distribute among virtual servers however they see fit. In the event that one server needs more memory or disk space, the client can provision accordingly with just a few mouse clicks.
IPR sought VMware vCloud® Powered validation in order to give clients who are already using VMware the ability to control their physical and cloud environments simultaneously using a single pane of glass the vSphere control panel they already know and understand, with no learning curve. As a validated provider, IPR can now provide users with enhanced responsiveness and reduced IT costs through increased consolidation, task automation, and simplified management.
The service debuted on April 21, 2014.
