Applied Video Imaging, a provider of rugged video products for airborne, ground, and marine surveillance missions, introduced its new D1700 series of rugged multifunction displays. With full 1920x1080 HD resolution, 16.7M colors, high-contrast, and high-brightness, the D1700 series provides impressive image clarity. The light-weight unit (3.54 Kg, 7.8 lbs) has a small footprint of only 419mm x 282mm x 34mm (16.5” x 11.1” x 1.3”) yet supports a large 17.3” diagonal viewing area.
The D1701 features innovative AR coated full cover Gorilla® glass with Projective Capacitive (PCAP) function controls, direct sunlight readability, 3G-SDI input and output, and many other outstanding features and options.
Enclosed in a unique heat dissipating and water-tight aluminum 6061 enclosure, the display provides up to four 3G-SDI inputs with up to four 3G-SDI loop-through outputs. Standard or customized button icons provide direct operator functional control for video input selection, brightness control, Day/Night/NVGS mode control, or control of other AVI products such as Quad Processors, Video Switches, and Recorders. Optional features include dual LED NVGS compatible operation, full PCAP touchscreen, LCD heater, and Portrait Mode operation.
The 16:9 aspect ratio of the D1700 series delivers optimal viewing of HD video sensors. It can also be used in portrait mode with AVI’s Quad Processor allowing up to three HD images to be displayed at the same time in a space-saving configuration.
“AVI’s new D1700 series of rugged multifunction mission displays allows our customers to view full 3-G SDI video directly from their HD video sources fully exploiting the capabilities of todays’ EO/IR sensors,” said Bruce Carriker, President and founder of AVI. “And with AVI’s innovative PCAP button technology in combination with our Open Command Protocol, mission systems control can now be directly accessed on the display by the operator.”
Designed to DO-160 standards, AVI’s rugged 17.3” multifunction displays accepts 9 36 volts DC power. RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, USB, and Ethernet input and output controls are standard. The display is designed for use in airborne, ground, and marine law enforcement and defense surveillance applications. Based on SMPTE industry standards, it can be used with any SDI video source.
