LexisNexis® Legal & Professional, a leading global provider of content and technology solutions, today announced that its innovative LexisNexis Near Dupe software for performing near-duplicate analysis of documents is now an embedded feature built into the company's Concordance® Evolution enterprise review software for electronic discovery. There is no third-party software to integrate and no "add-on" charge to customers.
“LexisNexis Near Dupe recognizes similar documents within an e-discovery collection by automatically evaluating the actual content of the documents,” said Steve Ashbacher, vice president and general manager of Concordance at LexisNexis. “Our software is superior to traditional 'near-dupe' analysis products because it is powered by a unique algorithm that allows users to reveal even more types of document relationships. This means faster and more efficient attorney review, more consistent review decisions, fewer documents hosted in a review environment and increased quality control of outgoing productions.”
Near-duplicate or “near-dupe” analysis flags documents and emails that are nearly identical, such as multiple versions of a Microsoft Word document that are slightly edited over a period of time or a chain of email messages that are almost entirely redundant. With LexisNexis Near Dupe, the flagged documents and emails are grouped based on a similarity percentage specified by the user, who can then perform various types of near-duplicate document analyses using the capabilities now built into Concordance Evolution.
Concordance Evolution is the next generation of a fully installed enterprise review software product from LexisNexis. The software handles e-discovery management for cases of any size and is specifically designed for large-scale, complex litigation.
“Our objective is to help customers reduce the time and expense associated with e-discovery by speeding up review and improving consistency during the electronic document production process,” said Ashbacher. “A key way we're going to achieve that is by focusing on advanced integration throughout our product portfolio and across the e-discovery continuum. Earlier this year, we announced the integration of Concordance with our LAW PreDiscovery product; we will continue to find intuitive ways to extend this integration strategy.”
Concordance Evolution (lexisnexis.com/concordance-evolution) helps law firms, government agencies, litigation service bureaus and application service providers reduce their overall e-discovery cost and boost their litigation workflow productivity while managing the largest and most complex cases. Concordance Evolution is available with a base fee for the software application platform and a per-seat reviewer licensing fee; in addition to the fully installed version, Concordance Evolution is also available from LexisNexis and Managed Service Provider partners such as BlueStar Case Solutions in a fully hosted environment or on a case-by-case basis.
Concordance Evolution is part of a suite of litigation management products LexisNexis provides along the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). From data processing, review, analysis, production and presentation, LexisNexis offers solutions and tools for litigators to efficiently and confidently manage their case data and documents.
LexisNexis helps its clients gain increased control of e-discovery and litigation management with flexible, integrated solutions for early data assessment, processing, review and seamless chain of custody. Supporting the most critical phases of the EDRM, LexisNexis® Early Data Analyzer, LAW PreDiscovery™, Concordance®, Concordance® Evolution, CaseMap®, TextMap® and Sanction® software solutions work together for complete support of litigation management and can be offered in a hosted environment for the flexibility and support any case demands.
