SecureNet Technologies today announced the availability of the SecureNet GSM Interactive Gateway, the third in a series of plug-and play hardware modules which integrate with existing alarm panels to provide secure, fast, point-to-point alarm communication and home automation for homes and businesses.
Each SecureNet GSM gateway module connects to the existing alarms panel keypad bus, requiring no additional hardware. Once installed, the gateway connects to other devices in or around the home wirelessly, via Z-wave technology.
Customers can use a mobile app or a website to manage their alarm systems, receive event notifications, access their accounts, view live and archived video and control the connected aspects of their home automation systems, including control of lighting and locks, management of audio/video systems, thermostat and energy management and remote appliance control.
Unlike traditional polling technologies whereby end users can wait up to five minutes for home automation devices to respond to a command, SecureNet products use true always-on technology to deliver an instant response. End users no longer wait for lights, locks, thermostats, and other connected devices to respond.
The entire line of SecureNet Interactive Gateway modules allows new services to be added to most existing alarm panel hardware. By adding a gateway module to a legacy alarm panel, alarm dealers and other security providers can assume control over the panel’s hardware and offer services to customers such as event notifications and interactive home automation services. All communication with the monitoring center is carried out over the secure, high-speed cellular connection, instead of using a traditional land-based telephone line.
The SecureNet GSM gateway can be added to the most commonly found alarm panels in homes and businesses, including panels from Honeywell, DSC, and GE. The process of upgrading an existing panel with the SecureNet gateway is simple, and services can be fully activated in less than one minute.
The SecureNet GMS Interactive Gateway Module joins two other models released in 2013, including a wi-fi gateway and an ethernet-based gateway. All three modules are available now.
