Effective October 1, 2013, Relay Fitness Group received a capital infusion and relocated its offices to Kansas City, Missouri, consolidating its headquarters and warehouse into one location. The company, founded in 2011 by Marko Vujicic, Greg Wallace, Mark Chiles, and the Shinn Fu Corporation, is the maker of the Evo series of indoor cycles. The Evo incorporates a number of new innovations, including a sway function and a beltless, chainless drive system.
“We’ve made dramatic improvements to our products for this selling season and we’re very excited about the continued growth of our distribution channels and the growing demand for our unique products,” said Scott Eyler, the day-to-day manager of Relay Fitness Group. “Now that we have 100% support from our parent company, Shinn Fu, we’re looking forward to continuing our stable growth.”
Shinn Fu Corporation now owns 100% of Relay Fitness Group and has supported its continued growth. The Evo Fitness Bike product line falls in perfect alignment with the high quality, innovative products currently produced and distributed by the multinational corporation.
Unlike typical indoor cycles, the Evo Fitness Bike’s frame rocks like a real bicycle. Most people don't realize that their core muscles and upper body are used when riding a bike outdoors. They help to stabilize and balance the body while pedaling. Cycling professionals are able to use this rocking motion to counter-sway the bike, throwing more power into the pedals when they climb hills or perform all-out sprints. The Evo Fitness Bike mimics this motion with a 10 degree pivot to each side.
In addition to the sway feature, the Evo Fitness Bike also uses a patent pending drive system called the Orb. Typical indoor cycles drive an external flywheel using a belt or chain. The Orb negates the need for a belt or chain through the use of a planetary gear drive, requiring extremely low maintenance and no adjustments. The system is also completely internal, avoiding the damaging effects of sweat and dirt entering the mechanism.
“Our Orb drive system and our industry leading sway system are revolutionizing the indoor cycling industry,” stated Scott Eyler. “Our feature-laden Evo product line combined with new management and funding will allow us to rapidly expand in 2014.”
The full commercial Evo cx and light commercial Evo ix models are available through the Relay Fitness Group’s dealer network.
