MerlinCryption, The Smart-World’s Smart-Encryption® company welcomes Dr. Stephen M. Jarrett as Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Jarrett is well known in the intelligence and military communities for his ability to identify innovative technologies and marry them to government and commercial clients with unique market requirements.
“The current cyber environment is a decidedly crucial time for introducing innovative solutions that effectively protect, beyond the capabilities of the encryption and authentication we have depended on, to date,” says Dr. Jarrett,“My 30-year career emphasis has been to identify and place break-though technology where it is critically needed. MerlinCryption presents the opportunity to lead with a powerful solution, which will positively impact government, military, and corporate security for years to come.”
MerlinCryption’s development of Anti-Statistical Block Encryption (ASBE) delivers the security community an algorithm, which overcomes inherent risks in current encryptions. Most of as these encryptions have been broken, while the remaining have become increasingly fragile against today’s advancing computer power and criminal technique. In contrast, ASBE is not subject to attack by cryptanalysis and utilizes variable key lengths, which scale in size from 2008 bits to 2 gigabytes. This encryption solution does not require key transfer between end-points and eliminates expensive, cumbersome PKI.
“Dr. Jarrett has a comprehensive understanding of MerlinCryption’s unparalleled technology and will expertly navigate the path to secure military, power-grid, and healthcare environments with this forward-reaching solution,” says Paul “Prem” Sobel, MerlinCryption CTO. “We are confident that Steve’s high integrity and standard of excellence will lead the company to the next stage of growth and development.”
Dr. Jarrett composed the Chief of Naval Operations evaluation of command and control systems in the Iraqi theater for Operation Southern Watch. His Advanced Technology Transition and Innovation Center (ATTIC) concept was implemented and was recognized as one of the top four innovation success stories in the Navy during FY 2005 for contributions to Operation Iraqi Freedom.
As a member of the Strategic Technologies Team for Rockwell Collins, Jarrett performed competitive technology intelligence in the advanced technology area. He has led multi-company teams in the development of advanced proposals for technology insertion and product development.
As SPAWARSYSCEN CTO for the Intelligence and Information warfare department, Dr. Jarrett’s primary focus was the transition of technologies from research and development organizations at universities, industry partners, and federal laboratories to combat forces and homeland security customers.
