Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, 2013/09/24 - Siborg Systems Inc. has released the newest model in the Smart Tweezers family, the LCR-Reader, a lighter, more cost effective model of the popular handheld LCR meter.
Siborg Systems Inc.'s new LCR-Reader offers a new smaller, lighter design that provides a more cost effective alternative to the previous Smart Tweezers LCR-meters, while still maintaining a high basic accuracy and functionality.
The new LCR-Reader offers the same one-touch-measurements found on previous model, where the device measures for Inductance, Resistance or Capacitance and ESR when in contact with a component. Though the device has recieved a make-over to lower manufacturing costs, the basic accuracy still remains high at 1%. The accuracy was within sights of the 1% goal when in testing, but to ensure that each device promises the accuracy, each is calibrated using the calibration fixture.
"We are very happy with the new device." says Michael Obrecht, the Director or Resesarch and Development at Siborg,"Customer service is our main priority. Therefore we took additional measures to ensure high measurement accuracy of the LCR-Reader before we start mass production of this model. Basic accuracy of 1% was our target and we eventually have been able to achieve it."
The LCR-Reader is half the weight of previous models at 1 oz. and features a new high-contrast LCD screen. A one button navigation allows users to easily switch between measurement modes L, C, R and ESR. The device is powered with a Li-Ion battery and chargeable using a micro USB cable. Features found on the new device include; automatic LCR and ESR measurments, a 1% basic accuracy, best test range election, Li-Ion battery with micro-usb, and 1 oz. weight. Unfortunately the LCR-Reader has lost features found on the Smart Tweezers units, including; component sorting, automatic offset adjustment, and circuit, continuity and diode testing.
All the latest news about LCR-Reader can be found on the Smart Tweezers Blog. Pre-order your device now for a 20% discount.
