MySQL Enterprise Monitor continuously monitors MySQL databases and improves productivity by warning developers, database administrators (DBAs) and system administrators of potential problems before they impact the infrastructure and recommends best practices to improve performance, security and reliability.

Built by the developers of MySQL, with best practices advice from experts in the MySQL support team, MySQL Enterprise Monitor is the most comprehensive MySQL monitoring solution available. A key component of MySQL Enterprise Edition, MySQL Enterprise Monitor 3.0 delivers:
Improved manageability: Enhancements such as automatic discovery of MySQL instances, centralized agent configuration and multi-instance monitoring further improve the ease of configuration and management of MySQL databases.
Remote MySQL monitoring in the cloud: New cloud and virtualization-friendly,“agent-less” design allows remote monitoring of MySQL databases without the need for any remote agents.
Real-time MySQL monitoring and alerts, including:
• Performance: Continuously monitors MySQL queries and performance-related server metrics. Automatic alerts are sent following significant deviations from baseline performance trends, and best practices advisors recommend changes to configuration and variable settings to improve performance.
• Availability: MySQL availability monitoring and measurement lets developers and DBAs know if they are meeting their Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments, with a graphical presentation of database availability for the past day, week and month.
• InnoDB: Key InnoDB metrics impacting performance are monitored, and alerts are sent on inefficient index usage, locking issues and InnoDB buffer pool usage. Hints and tips on how to improve InnoDB configuration based on the current performance and the analyzed trends are provided.

• Security: Helps developers and DBAs discover and address security holes. The advisors provide a set of rules designed to enforce MySQL security best practices and deliver alerts highlighting potential vulnerabilities.
Visual dashboard and graph features, including:
• Database management-at-a-glance: A web-based dashboard provides a global view into database performance, availability, and critical events, and allows administrators to visually examine a single server, a custom group, or all databases. A rich set of real-time and historical graphs makes it possible to drill down into server statistic details.
• Visual Query Analysis: The MySQL Query Analyzer monitors real-time query performance, checks execution statistics, filters and pinpoints SQL code that is causing a slow-down. Using the MySQL 5.6 Performance Schema, data is now gathered directly from the MySQL database without the need for additional software or configuration.
• Visual queries/graph correlation: With new correlated graphs, developers and DBAs can find and fix expensive queries by highlighting a time slice on a graph. They can locate the potential cause of a larger performance issue comparing graphed execution parameters such as the server load, thread statistics, or RAM usage against the queries that were being executed at that time.
