• Software Magazine ranks Bomgar as one of the world’s largest software companies, and the fastest growing company of its size.
• Bomgar ranks No. 362 with a total software and services revenue of $36.4 million, marking its fourth consecutive year on the Software 500.
The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and service suppliers, targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers, and business managers involved in software and services purchasing. Bomgar was also recognized for the largest percentage revenue growth among Software 500 companies in the $30 million to $50 million range, with 28.7% growth in 2012.
Bomgar’s remote support solutions are used by thousands of service desks and support centers worldwide to access and fix remote computers, systems and mobile devices. Bomgar’s software is designed for security-conscious enterprises and deployed in a secure, hardened appliance, protecting users from hackers who commonly use remote access tools to breach networks. Today, more than 7,500 customers in 65 countries are using Bomgar to increase support staff productivity, enhance security, and improve customer satisfaction.
“It is an honor to be named to this esteemed list of companies for the fourth year in a row,” said Joel Bomgar, founder and CEO, Bomgar. “This recognition is a direct reflection of each Bomgar employee’s focus on producing high quality products and services, driving our continued success and growth. I’m thankful to be part of a company with such dedicated and hard-working individuals.”
Earlier this year, analyst firm IDC named Bomgar as the leader in enterprise remote support, finding Bomgar to have the most market share among companies with 1,000 or more employees. Since its founding in 2003, Bomgar has experienced consistent growth due to its market-leading security and multi-platform remote support features, as well as its robust integrations with leading service desk and system management systems.
“The 2013 Software 500 results show that employment in the software and services industry was very healthy, increasing 9.5 percent to total Software 500 company employment of 4,924, 121,” says John P. Desmond, editor, Software Magazine. “At the same time, overall revenue was up four percent from last year to $672.9 billion,” he adds.
The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2012. This includes revenue from software licenses, maintenance and support, training, and software-related services, and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. Financial information is gathered by a survey prepared by Rockport Custom Publishing, LLC. Using public documents and company input.
