DigitalRoute, the market leader in data management and mediation solutions today announced that Robi Axiata Ltd, the leading Telecommunication services provider in Bangladesh, has selected DigitalRoute’s MediationZone product to replace its existing legacy billing mediation solution.
MediationZone was principally selected for both its flexibility and its extensive functionality. The product supports a variety of use cases additional to billing mediation that can be quickly configured to provide a future proof solution in key areas such as online routing.
The new system will help Robi to further modernize not only its customer billing system but also to provide a best-in-class customer experience, as well as improved handling of functions like roaming and interconnection, Network Management, and Fraud Management.
In making its selection, Robi focused on identifying both the latest technology as well as a proven, scalable solution. Ease of maintenance and vendor independence were other critical factors in the selection. On all counts, MediationZone fit the bill.

The deployment of MediationZone, initially for billing mediation, is the first step in Robi's comprehensive Business Sales and Support transformation. When complete, the project will enable Robi to effectively support both future technologies and new business models. Robi is part of the Axiata Group, which already uses MediationZone as part of its group level strategy for identifying best-of-breed solutions and streamlining applications.
The MediationZone deployment is being delivered by DigitalRoute’s in-region services team. The first implementation of the system went live July 2013 and the entire project was completed in 4 months.
