BRP also received anaward in April 2013 for the most advanced powertrain concept in the light sport aircraft industry for its Rotax 912 iS aircraft engine from the German aviation magazine fliegermagazin.
Since 1960, the Dr. August Raspet Memorial Award has been presented every year to a person or organisation who has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of light aircraft design. The award is named for the late Dr. August Raspet, a professor at Mississippi State University and avid light aircraft enthusiast.
