Kerio Technologies today announced the availability of Kerio Control 8.1, a UTM security appliance, which gives network administrators an easy way to save their finely tuned configuration settings. Now, settings are automatically backed up to Samepage, Kerio’s social collaboration platform. Admins can register for a Samepage account for free, or use their existing account to have their settings saved every day.
“Kerio Control is a robust appliance that offers many customizable IT security and network management settings,” said Chris Peluso, vice president of platform and business development, Kerio Technologies. “Some of our longtime users have spent years perfecting how the product fits into their environment, these folks will rest easier knowing all these settings are saved and stored securely on Samepage.”
Kerio Control 8.1 is ideal for organizations that demand robust network protection, traffic analysis, and user-based reporting. In addition to automated backup to Samepage, additional new features include:
VPN Tunnel Failover - VPN tunnels are traditionally bound to a single Internet connection, making them susceptible to outages. With Kerio’s VPN tunnel failover multiple hostnames or IP addresses can be specified for a more reliable connection.
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Support The status of Kerio Control can now be monitored via third party SNMP enabled Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) platforms like LabTech, Kaseya and Spiceworks or with popular opensource tools such as Zabbix.
Password Guessing Protection To protect against hackers, frequent unsuccessful login attempts from one IP address will trigger a temporary suspension of the ability to login.
A Kerio Control software server license starts at $265 USD and includes 5 users. Additional users are $26 each. Hardware appliance pricing starts at $985 for the Kerio Control Box 1110 with 5 users, which includes Sophos gateway antivirus and Kerio Control Web Filter.
Kerio Control 8.1 is available for download immediately with a 30-day unrestricted evaluation period.
