With 25 years of experience in IT and Telecom sectors, the executive has the mission to contribute to the new phase of the company and the World Class Operation program
Damovo Brazil, a leading provider of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services and solutions, has announced the coming of Dênio Portella for the Operation Vice President position in the country. Under his leadership, there are about 200 employees in the areas of Technical Support for Customers and Center of Competence & Projects, which work with great experience in all business communication solutions.
Portella joins the company contributing with his vast experience in the World Class Operation program, which aims to unify the services among the various Damovo operations around the world and use the features of each site to implement increasing improvements in the customer services.
With graduation in Electronic Engineering and specialization in Software Engineering, Finance and IT Governance, Portella has dedicated the last 12 years of his 25-year career to the executive direction and the management of Operations and Engineering at IT (focused on datacenters), Telecom and Processes Implementation segments. The executive worked for several companies, such as Philips, Diveo, UOLDiveo and Neovia.
Among his functions, Portella has the mission to support Alberto Ferreira, President of Damovo Brazil, in conducting the local operations through the processes implementation, gap analysis and effective action plans. Working for over a month at Damovo Brazil, Portella is already leading the best practices for services management with ITIL implementation (IT Infrastructure Library), in addition to PMO (Project Management Office) to ensure the alignment of the operations and business areas.
Damovo Brazil is the subsidiary pioneering the ITIL implementation at this moment and, in conjunction with PMO, aims to migrate from functional model to the process model, in addition to ensure the performance control, act strongly on the reduction in service execution and troubleshooting and also prevent incidents. This will avoid impacts on the services delivery, generating better results for the entire chain.
"The challenge presented by Damovo is a stimulus, because I identify the chance to build something that is innovative," says Portella. "I've worked in all layers of the infrastructure services, from the physical connection to the final user interface, and I think Damovo gathers the structural aspects required for process management. This is really challenging! "
Prior to joining Damovo Brazil, Portella worked at UOLDiveo and participated in Diveo start-up implementing the backbone for SDH radio, ATM and MPLS networks - in telecom and the Cloud Computing and SaaS (Software as a Service) models in IT and Datacenter.
"Portella brings together high technical knowledge and practical experience in management that will make the difference for the governance that Damovo Brazil seeks," said Fernandez. "We have bold plans and strongly believe that he will support their execution and conclusion."
