The Iowa City Area Development Group and the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance have entered into an agreement for targeted industry attraction services with Site Location Partnership (SLP), a Dallas-based corporate site selection and economic development consulting firm.
SLP will help market the new brand for Iowa’s Creative Corridor through participation in industry trade shows and engagement with companies considering expansion and relocation.
According to Mark Nolte, ICAD Group President, SLP is helping augment the region’s current recruitment efforts by providing more opportunities for exposure at major tradeshows across the nation. “For example, they’re helping promote our region this week to advanced manufacturers and other companies at the 2013 Windpower Conference and Exhibition in Chicago,” said Nolte. “This helps eliminate excess travel costs and lost staff time so we can focus on our clients and investors locally, while still marketing the region externally.”
Dennis Jordan, from the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, notes that SLP helped narrow down industry clusters to target those best suited for the region. “With their expertise, we’ll pinpoint decision makers in industries best suited for our area,” said Jordan. “Industry clusters including advanced manufacturing, bio processing and food ingredients, distribution and logistics, electronic equipment and design, food processing, and office support for the insurance and financial industries will be pursued.”
SLP’s Economic Development Practice will provide targeted industry business attraction services, site selector appointment setting, website promotion, interactive marketing, and trade show representation.
