Siborg Systems, Inc. has signed their 3rd deal for distribution of their popular LCR-meter in Japan with a new deal with Alpha Corp.
Alpha Corp., in Chiba, Japan, is a distributor of niche testing tools, materials and machinery for electronics. They primarily offer imported products to Japanese clients as well as offering unique test equipment for PCBs.
Smart Tweezers are a fully automatic, handheld LCR-meter able to identify the type of component and measure for Inductance (L), Resistance ® or Capacitance ©, as well as secondary parameters such as the ESR of a capacitor, with no setting up, just a touch of the tweezers’ tips to a component. The ST5, the latest model, features designated ESR measurements, component sorting, and continuity and diode testing.
Norito Ito, the Director of Alpha Corp. says;
“We are constantly searching for new original products that would be useful to Japanese engineers. I was impressed by Smart Tweezers LCR-meter when I found information aout them at Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) website. It looked so unique and handy for ay work involving PRinted Circuit Board (PCBs) that I contacted Siborg right away and suggested to market this product in Japan and neighbouring countries. Although it is very hard to sell imported electronics in Japan, we see a good potential for Smart Tweezers here.”
Smart Tweezers were designed to streamline the process of evaluating Surface Mount Technology with LCR-meters. Unlike conventional testers that require 2 hands, and probes connected with wires, with just a touch of the tips to a component, Smart Tweezers determines the type of component and measures for L, C or R immediately, with no setting-up required. Easily held and operated with one hand, Smart Tweezers allows the other hand to be free for taking notes, holding other tools, etc.
A patented mechatronic design allows Smart Tweezers to have very low and well defined parasitics that are easily removed using the semi-automatic offset subtraction feature. With the parasitics removed, the device is able to measure as low as a fraction of microhenry for Inductance measurements, and to 1 picofarad and 1 milliohm for resistance and capacitance.
Siborg’s design simplifies testing and evaluating Surface Mount Technology, and makes short work of on-board impedance testing, PCB debugging and SMD component characterization and sorting. Used by many major high-tech companies worldwide, Smart Tweezers is an indisputably handy tool for all applications.
