The award recognizes the company’s global ambition and commitment to improve the well-being of the state of Iowa at the international level.
Presenting the award was Consul General Zhao Weiping, the Chinese Consul General to Chicago. Hosted by the Chinese Association of Iowa, Consul General Zhao, along with his seven member delegation, toured Kemin as well as other Des Moines companies to share knowledge, learn about business operations and enhance relations between Iowa and China.
“The Chinese Association of Iowa’s 25th Anniversary Committee selected Kemin as an honoree for its distinguished achievement in developing a successful international business partnership with China and the Iowa Chinese community,” stated Swallow Yan, Chinese Association of Iowa executive director. “Kemin leaders have demonstrated passion, vision and commitment for the nearly three-decade-long partnership with Chinese Association of Iowa and Chinese people and government. We are very proud of our partnership with Kemin.”
For 25 years the Chinese Association of Iowa has represented Chinese Americans by advocating for business, economic and community development initiatives across the state. Each year a committee evaluates Iowa companies and individuals and selects those that demonstrate generosity and a strong effort to enrich Iowa through leadership, volunteerism, sacrifice and advocacy.
