The European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) today announced it has selected Steelhenge Consulting for a wide-ranging crisis management brief.
Geneva-based CERN, the world’s leading particle physics research institute, has asked Steelhenge to review its strategic crisis response framework. Over the next few months the consultancy will also be assessing CERN’s training and exercising requirements, and delivering bespoke crisis management courses tailored to the specific needs of its crisis teams.
Building, developing and improving crisis management capability enables organisations of all sizes and sectors to see potential crises before they land, and respond rapidly and effectively when they do. Coherence with overall business plans and strategic management objectives is essential to successful crisis planning.
Simon Baird, Group Leader for Engineering/Machines and Experimental Facilities, and head of CERN’s crisis management working group, commented: “Following a very detailed review, we selected Steelhenge for its experience, insight and expertise. We aim to stay at the forefront of crisis management and we know Steelhenge will be able to help prepare and develop our capability.”
Dominic Cockram, Managing Director of Steelhenge, commented: “We are very pleased to be advising a global centre of excellence at the cutting edge of scientific research. CERN is a unique and exceptional organisation, but it faces risks and vulnerabilities like every other. We thoroughly look forward to working with the leadership team and building a great capability.”
