Dillon Gage, a firm that trades precious metals, selected Ciber to manage its upgrade of Infor Lawson software. Ciber’s extensive Lawson proficiency and upgrade accelerator tools were among the reasons Dillon Gage picked Ciber as its upgrade partner.
The project involves a double upgrade, starting with a jump from Lawson S3 version 9.0 to version 9.01, then directly up to the most-recent version of Infor Lawson. Dillon Gage’s systems required considerable modifications to accommodate some 70 custom tables and related interfaces. Despite these modifications, Ciber was able to manage installation on the double upgrade in one weekend.
With the new software, Dillon Gage will gain enhanced security features and data auditing capabilities. The version 10 upgrade also opens the gateway for Dillon Gage to take advantage of other Infor products. These include Smart Office desktop-personalization technology, which allows users to tailor their workspace to meet their needs by combining non-Infor applications, such as Microsoft Office tools, and Infor Lawson or Infor M3 applications.
“We chose to work with Ciber because of the company’s Infor leadership,” said Sarah Casey, IT director, Dillon Gage. “We knew we could trust Ciber’s expertise, and we appreciated the time-saving methodologies the company has developed for this version 10 upgrade.”
“Dillon Gage, a leader in precious metals trading, is making a wise investment with this double upgrade,” said Beth Dvoracek, Ciber’s senior Infor practice director. “By leveraging Ciber’s 17 years of experience, Dillon Gage will be able to complete the upgrade quickly and efficiently, and this new Lawson release will bring the company systems stability for years to come.”
For those who want to learn more about Ciber upgrade accelerators and the Dillon Gage engagement, both are featured in a webinar Ciber originally broadcast for some 500 registrants on Sept. 12. Titled “Simplifying the Lawson S3 v10 Upgrade,” the webinar replay is available online at ciber.com.
Ciber’s relationship with Infor dates back to 1995. As one of Infor’s largest systems integration partners, Ciber’s Infor experts have enhanced client systems capabilities through more than 2 million consulting hours.
