Exhibition Booth 14 - September 30 - October 3, 2012 - Detroit, Michigan, USA
To demonstrate their commitment to the North American automotive industry, Borealis and Borouge, leading providers of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, will attend the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE®) Automotive TPO Global Conference in Detroit. At the global conference, the companies will highlight their ability to offer innovative material solutions that help car manufacturers in the North American market as well as around the globe to achieve current and future high standards of automotive customers.
During the event, which is organised by the SPE®, Borealis and Borouge will present two keynote papers, showcasing their in-depth understanding of material development and their ability to deliver value-creating polyolefin mobility solutions for manufacturers around the world. The focus areas of the two presentations are:
Innovative PP Lightweight Solutions with Excellent Dimensional Stability
Michael Tranninger, Borealis Global Application Marketing Manager Business Unit Mobility, will demonstrate how Borealis’ Borstar® polypropylene (PP) process for advanced reactor thermoplastic polyolefins (rTPOs) is significantly contributing to the delivery of Borealis’ latest material and technology innovations.
Tiger Stripe Simulation
Tiger stripes, the visual periodic change of surface gloss, is a phenomenon caused by converting processes and is a general problem of thermoplastic materials including polyolefin materials. Building upon our 30 years of research, Tobias Allmendinger, Borealis Application Technology Manager Business Unit Mobility, will present the next level in prediction and material development.
“As a leading provider of lightweight plastics solutions, Borealis and Borouge continue to make significant investments so that our customers around the globe are able to benefit from our innovative grades and high service levels,” adds Harald Hammer, Borealis Vice President Business Unit Mobility. “Borealis has, in recent years, strengthened its global presence through investments such as the creation of a dedicated Borealis Automotive Team, specifically for the North American market,” he concludes.
