FTI Consulting, Inc., the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organizations protect and enhance their enterprise value, today announced a significant addition to its creative engagement and digital communications capabilities with the appointment of industry specialist Mitzi Emrich as a Managing Director in the firm’s Strategic Communications practice. She will be based in the FTI Consulting Washington, D.C., office.
Ms. Emrich will work across the FTI Consulting practices and industry solutions groups to develop, integrate and strengthen the firm’s social media offerings. She also will work closely with existing clients to enhance their corporate and brand marketing communications through social media programs.

Ms. Emrich has more than a decade of expertise in strategic communications and program management, with a focus on developing and implementing integrated social media engagement campaigns targeting consumers, influencers and decision makers. Ms. Emrich joins FTI Consulting from Edelman Public Relations, where she held the position of Senior Vice President and Group Head in the firm’s Digital practice since 2008. In this role, she managed a team of digital specialists focused on social business strategy, influencer engagement, digital advertising, issues management and content creation on behalf of clients in the energy, health and transportation sectors. She also has held positions with The Saint Consulting Group, the Sierra Club and the American Counsel for an Energy-Efficient Economy.
Ms. Emrich currently serves as an adjunct professor of Digital Communications Strategy at Georgetown University. She received a B.A. in political science at Western Washington University and an M.A. in political management at George Washington University.
