LexisNexis® Risk Solutions today announced it has acquired EDIWatch, Inc., a privately-held leading provider of fraud, waste and abuse (FWA) technology solutions exclusively for the health care payer industry.

"Combining EDIWatch with LexisNexis public records and related data, linking and predictive analytics capabilities provides a comprehensive end-to-end suite of solutions to address the range of payer needs in combating fraud, waste and abuse," said James Peck, CEO, LexisNexis Risk Solutions. LexisNexis offers a comprehensive suite of predictive modeling, advanced analytics and identity management solutions to manage and help ensure appropriate access to information, reduce the risk of fraudulent activity and improve the quality of care and oversight. With the ability to integrate data and analytic tools into existing workflows, LexisNexis offers valuable information in real time to help health care providers and payers make more informed decisions and streamline processes.

EDIWatch’s portfolio addresses FWA detection, recovery, and prevention; leverages automated business fraud rules and analytics; and offers user-friendly case management workflow tools and investigatory services. EDIWatch's operations will be integrated into the Health Care business unit of LexisNexis Risk Solutions, which is led by Vice President and General Manager Harry Jordan. EDIWatch co-founder Paul Slagle will assume a new role within the LexisNexis Health Care business unit as Sr. Director, Fraud, Waste & Abuse Solutions, reporting to Jordan. EDIWatch is based in Alpharetta, Georgia, and will be integrated into LexisNexis.
