“ATEN International, a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced connectivity solutions, today unveiled a new control unit that enables access to one computer (PC or Mac) and two Bluetooth-enabled devices (such as tablets, smartphones and video game consoles) from a single USB keyboard and mouse. The new CS533 Tap, a USB-to-Bluetooth KM switch, converts standard USB keyboard and mouse signals into Bluetooth connections to allow for easy sharing between a computer and Bluetooth devices.
Eliminating the need to purchase a compatible Bluetooth-capable keyboard or mouse, the CS533 also saves users valuable desktop real estate. As a hardware solution, the CS533 requires no drivers or software installation. The CS533 features a two-way, movable cradle design to store upright a smartphone or tablet. The CS533 provides two angles, 70° or 20°, for device placement and easy viewing. Additionally, a non-slip rubber pad keeps the device in place and from sliding.
“We're pleased to launch the CS533 Tap which provides an economical and innovative solution to leverage existing USB-based keyboards and mice with both computers and newer, Bluetooth-enabled devices such as tablets and smartphones which can be difficult to type on,” explained Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International. #8220; Users simply connect their USB keyboards and mice to the CS533 Tap and a Bluetooth connection is then instantly made to the device. Having access to a full-sized, physical keyboard and mouse provides users with limitless productivity.”
Features and highlights of the CS533 Tap include:
• Links use of a USB keyboard and mouse between a computer (PC or Mac) and two Bluetooth devices (iOS and Android tablets/smartphones, video game consoles);
• Quick switch access to the computer and Bluetooth devices via hotkey;
• Supports PC and Mac iOS Bluetooth media key mapping;
• Supports wireless and multi-function keyboards;
• Mac keyboard support and emulation;
• Supports USB hot-plugging;
• Fully supports Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, Mac and Linux;
• Firmware upgradable;
• No software installation or drivers required.
About KVM Switches-An Essential Server Management Device
A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
