The first half of the year was defined by strong company growth, award recognition, support for systems running Linux OS and more. Combined, these milestones position Quorum for continued growth well into the future.
Company Growth Exceeds Expectations
The first half of 2012 was marked by a number of successes. Most notably was Quorum's over75 percent quarter-over-quarter growth in the second quarter of 2012 (as compared with the first quarter), making it the largest quarter ever by a significant margin. Spurring this growth in part is sales of the new Quorum Hybrid Cloud Disaster Recovery Solution, which the company announced in March, and which builds on the original pure appliance version, cloning servers onto an in-house appliance as well as a private cloud. This solution maintains the company's hallmark one-click, instant recovery of data, applications and systems, and on-demand, automatic testing. It is also simple, easy-to-use and cost-effective, making it the preferred choice of small to mid-sized businesses, for whom even a few minutes of downtime can have a critical impact.
The addition of a new vice president of engineering also contributed to Quorum's growth so far this year. Steve Bagby joined Quorum's executive team in May, bringing with him nearly 30 years of experience. Bagby's background in technology innovation and bringing new products to market bolsters Quorum's efforts in ongoing product development.
Award Recognition Underscores Company's Industry Leadership
The first half of 2012 has been rich with award recognition. In April, Quorum was selected as a THINKstrategies Cloud Computing Business Value Award winner. Designed to promote the business benefits offered by today's cloud computing solutions, Quorum was selected because of its reputation for delivering tangible business benefits to small to mid-sized businesses.
In May, and for the second consecutive year, Quorum was shortlisted as a semifinalist for the Business Continuity Awards, which acknowledge excellence in the field of business continuity and operational risk management, in the Most Innovative Product of the Year category.
Finally, Quorum was named a Gold Winner in the Best SMB Software Product category by Tech Awards Circle, which recognizes excellence in technology innovation. Announced in June, this award is also Quorum's second consecutive by Tech Awards Circle: Last year, the company was named a Bronze Winner in the same category.
Quorum Solution Support for Linux-Based Servers Broadens Appeal
Certainly, much of Quorum's first-half success is due to its Appliance and Hybrid Cloud Disaster Recovery Solution, which has a well-known reputation for providing assured, one-click recovery in minutes for those systems running Windows OS. Now, Quorum builds on its reputation by extending this same simple, easy-to-use and deploy, cost-effective solution to Linux servers. The added support for Linux represents Quorum's commitment to serving its customers' needs, as many organizations run both Windows and Linux servers — or a combination of the two — for various mission-critical applications. This new feature presents a solution for one-click, instant recovery of data, applications and systems, and on-demand and automatic testing for both Windows and Linux via a single point of management.
Support for Linux will be available at the end of August. Existing customers will be able to upgrade at that time; the feature will be included in new deployments.
"Already, 2012 has proven to be a banner year for Quorum," said Larry Lang, CEO, Quorum.
