Nokia today announced that its Location & Commerce business is supplying NAVTEQ® Maps for the first ever fitted navigation system available in a Peugeot 107. Drivers of an exclusive 107 model will be able to enjoy a top quality navigation experience powered by world leading pan-European map data featuring coverage of over 40* countries.
Branded the Peugeot 107 with NAVTEQ® on Board, this special edition car stands out from other 107 models - it not only includes a streamlined navigation system fitted into the dashboard but also an iPod docking station and Bluetooth technology for handsfree telephone calls. This special edition based on the active trim level is available in four colours; Lipizan white, Electra blue, Gallium grey or Caldera black. The 107 Navteq On Board™ has a Manhattan Mistral blue interior trim and prices start from 12 750 € including VAT.”
“We want to offer 107 drivers a high end, fitted navigation system which provides seamless routing not only at home but right across Europe,” explained Marc Giulioli, Marketing Director Peugeot France. “NAVTEQ® Maps contribute a level of coverage and accuracy which will help guide drivers efficiently and effectively to their destinations. Having used them to power navigation ever since our first line-fit system, NAVTEQ® Maps were a very natural choice for this special edition model.
In France alone, the NAVTEQ® Map offers over 1.4 million kilometres of road network, reaching 100% of the country’s population. There are also over one million Points of Interest which make it easy to find and navigate to a broad range of popular destinations such as banks/ATMs, fuel stations, restaurants, hotels and hospitals.
“Peugeot has been a leading force in bringing navigation to as many drivers as possible and continues to pioneer in this area by offering a system on a 107. We have been helping Peugeot drivers enjoy the best navigation experience in the world for some years and are delighted to provide the top quality digital maps required for this special edition,” added Bruno Bourguet, Sales Vice President, Nokia Location & Commerce
