Nokia today announced that its Location & Commerce business has entered into an agreement to supply map data and associated content, including predictive traffic data and advanced content enabling turn by turn navigation, to Logicom for its new mid-range Mappy Iti 409 and Ulti 509 PNDs.
The two new models are Logicom’s first venture into the middle price range. Both the Iti 409 and Ulti 509 include lifetime map updates, offering free access to the latest NAVTEQ Maps for 22 European countries up to four times per year. Updates can be downloaded via the Logicom webstore (mappy.naviextra.com) throughout the life of the device.
“When designing new products our aim is always to meet customer demand, and offering a lifetime map update service is a key addition for the Iti 409 and Ulti 509,” explained Stephane Marciano, Logicom Sales & Marketing Director. “One of the great benefits of using NAVTEQ Map data is the fact that it is continually maintained and revised, offering the freshness and accuracy consumers expect through updates available to them 4 times each year.”
Other features on the new devices include Easy Traffic, which is based on NAVTEQ Traffic Patterns™ predictive data and anticipates traffic flow trends based on the day of the week and the time of day. Drivers can be guided around potential problems and also receive more accurate estimated times of arrival. Also supported by an additional range of location content, the Turn by Turn Navigation feature helps direct people through complex junctions and difficult manoeuvres and 3D Landmarks provide easily identifiable orientation points.
“From the freshest NAVTEQ Maps with extensive coverage, to predictive traffic data and visual features, our location portfolio gives Logicom scope to introduce new and interesting content which provides the consumer with the best possible navigation experience,” added Bruno Bourguet, Vice President, Sales and Business Development EMEA, Nokia, Location & Commerce.
The Mappy Iti 409 and Ulti 509 are available now in France.
