Wayne, a global innovator of fuel dispensers and technologies, announced a milestone as it shipped its 10,000th fuel dispenser equipped with the Wayne Xflo™ fuel meter.
Ordinary fuel meters tend to "drift" and lose accuracy over time, through normal wear and tear. This meter drift more often than not results in the dispensing of small amounts of extra fuel in each customer’s tank. These small increments can add up to large profit losses, which can then be compounded by the costs of frequent recalibration required to restore and maintain their accuracy. However, the Wayne Xflo fuel meter is not ordinary. It combines state-of-the-art, precision engineering and design to help it hold its calibration and "give away" less fuel.
"As fuel prices rise, retailers are appreciating that they can decrease fuel loss and achieve significant cost savings with Xflo meters, and they’re expanding their use of the Xflo meter in forecourts across North America," said Lou Smith, Wayne North America dispenser product manager. "Hitting the 10,000th Xflo meter milestone is clear evidence that Xflo is making a difference. It has become the preferred solution for retailers who used to rely solely on recalibration as the only option to combat meter-drift."
The innovative engineering of the Xflo meter features axial flow architecture and a screw rotor designed to reduce friction between internal components. This efficient, precision-based design helps reduce friction, enabling an improved flow rate so retailers can fill tanks and serve customers in less time. Reduced friction also means reduced wear, little-to-no meter drift, improved accuracy, and ultimate cost savings. Those savings can be dramatic. The accuracy of the Xflo meter gives it the potential to save retailers more than 12,000 gallons/45,000 liters of fuel that could otherwise be lost from a single dispenser over five years.*
The Xflo fuel meter comes as standard equipment with the Wayne Ovation Eco fuel dispenser. It is also available as an option in new Ovation dispensers, and is engineered for easy retrofit to legacy Ovation, 3/Vista and 4/Vista dispenser models. All Xflo fuel meters include a 4-year calibration guarantee, which can help retailers save on service costs and provide peace of mind regarding Weights and Measures compliance.
