Bromyard, Herefordshire, United Kingdom, 2012/06/08 - On the 18th June Burrst.com a new social website for writers is launched. Unlike other websites for writers, Burrst concentrates on sharing short pieces of fearlessly written fiction - Burrst.com.
From June 18th write 1,250 words everyday to stay creative
Each day members can post one burst of 1,250 words or less to be read, listened to, liked and commented on. The focus on short, frequent and fearless writing from members is to encourage creativity. Not only are bursts limited in length but they are also untitled. Instead of spending 5 minutes or more deciding on a title, members are encouraged to start with a random sentence from a book, or their last conversation, or off a billboard and simply write without fear for 15 to 30 minutes.
If you write something you like you can post it, if not there's always tomorrow. Burrst also helps writers get discovered. Although you need to request an invitation to write, anyone can read work published on Burrst, and if you want to follow your favourite authors and highlight the items you like then you can sign up as a reader. Bursts are organised into popular, debut, and recent listings, as well as a listing for writers you follow, making it easy to find the things you like. One of the features we're most excited about is audio bursts.
Writers can upload a narrative of their burst for readers to listen to at anytime, so if two weeks after you post a burst you want to upload an audio version you've recorded you can. Audio bursts make content far more accessible, now you can listen to a burst whilst stuck in morning traffic, or maybe just to take a break from the screen! Burrst is free to all and right now looking for writers – sign up at burrst.com/.
