The iTRAQ® 8-plex experiment allows multiplex of two to eight samples in a single experiment, and simultaneous detection of protein quantitations and protein identifications.
In addition, we have further optimized the upstream sample preparation protocols for different types of samples such as serum, clinical samples with interfering substances, whole cell lysate and protein complex. The newly improved sample preparations have significantly increased the total number of proteins detected and the sensitivity of detecting low abundant proteins.
We have successfully applied the newly improved samples preparation combined with iTRAQ 8-plex in the following areas:
1) Serum samples with high abundant proteins and a wide dynamic range
2) Clinical samples with interfering substances (such as high salt in urine)
