ima has a long standing relationship with the City of Perris through projects like the ‘D’ Street Promenade and the Perris Station Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Multimodal Center. ima is continuing to build its relationship with the City of Perris by sponsoring the Rods and Rails Car and Motorcycle Show Extravaganza taking place June 9, 2012 from 9:00 am. - 5:00 pm. The event will take place at the Orange Empire Railway Museum, 2201 South “A” Street, Perris, CA 92570.
The California Transportation Foundation Award winning Perris BRT & Multimodal Center was phase one of a two-project transportation center. The transit project currently includes eight bus bays, 141 park and ride parking spaces, and five beautifully designed Victorian bus shelters. The Perris Valley Line (PVL) rail project, currently undergoing project development will extend Metrolink service 24 miles from downtown Riverside to the City of Perris. The PVL project includes four stations, and one of those stations, the Perris BRT and Multimodal Center, currently serves approximately 880,000 riders annually. The station is dedicated to Disney Animator and transportation enthusiast, Ward Kimball, and is enhanced by displays of his art work including Jiminy Cricket.
ima has been selected to continue the next phase of beautification for the ‘D’ Street Promenade. ima’s initial concept created a sense of arrival and unity to ‘D’ Street, beginning at City Hall and the Perris Community Center and ending at the retail core. Now ima is working closely with the City of Perris to continue the Promenade to the remaining Historic Downtown, uniting the Civic and retail cores of Perris. The capstone of ima and the City of Perris collaboration will be the completed community identification of the I-215 and ‘D’ Street Off-Ramp announcing the arrival to the City.
