North Oaks, MN, United States, 2012/04/10 - New for people living in the country: high tech WiFi and monitoring solutions to cover wide open spaces. Ayrstone Productivity is introducing new AyrMesh™ Routers and AyrScout™ Cameras to help farmers and ranchers keep an eye on what's important.
Every week it seems that new technology devices are introduced to the public with the idea of making life easier. Now people living and working in the country can take advantage of a new WiFi system that allows users to keep an eye on what’s happening on their farm or ranch, business or country home from just about anywhere.
A new technology line from Ayrstone Productivity, LLC is designed for people who appreciate the convenience of WiFi technology, but not the hassle of setting one up. “A novice can easily set up the Ayrstone AyrMesh™ WiFi system,” says Mitchell Earl, president of Advanced PC Solutions, Inc. in Hendersonville, NC. “If you can plug in an Ethernet cable and operate a web browser, you can set up an AyrMesh WiFi system.”
The foundation of the AyrMesh system is the AyrMesh Router. It provides the brains to easily configure the AyrScout™ WiFi Cameras and the AyrMesh Hub. Two AyrScout Cameras are available. The indoor camera option has pan and tilt capability allowing a viewer to control what the camera sees. A stationery, weatherproof AyrScout Camera can be mounted inside or outside. Both AyrScout Cameras work with the AyrMesh WiFi network to allow remote viewing from a home WiFi network or the Internet.
When installed within range of an AyrMesh Router or within about a half-mile range of an AyrMesh WiFi Hub, AyrScout Cameras stream what’s in view to a computer or Internet capable device like a smartphone. By installing additional AyrMesh Hubs a WiFi signal can be extended up to 6 miles; providing the WiFi connection needed for an AyrScout Camera to be installed and relay images from several miles away. The Ayrstone WiFi system has made checking expectant heifers in the night hours easier at Mindemann Farms in Sullivan, WI. Andy Mindemann, who handles the day-to-day chores of the 120 head cow-calf Angus herd, says the Ayrstone WiFi system lets him check on calving heifers without leaving the house. “I don’t live on the home farm so before the cameras I’d drive over to do night checks,” Mindemann says. Using the AyrMesh WiFi system and cameras set up over the maternity pens, now Mindemann views the cameras on his computer or smartphone. Without leaving the house he decides if calving assistance is needed, or if he can go back to bed.
“The AyrMesh Hub extends my WiFi signal out to the barns from the Internet connection in the house,” Mindemann says. With Internet extending in to the barns and cattle pens, Mindemann is able to access his cattle records. “I can check vaccination records, breeding history and other information while I am standing at the chute,” he says.
