It was presented to Atlas Copco Tools Central Europe’s Essen-based Motor Vehicle Industry and Project Team for outstanding performance in the category International Procurement Services. The awards were presented at this year’s Daimler Key Supplier Meeting in the Mercedes-Benz Center in Stuttgart on March 12
“We are extremely proud and delighted to receive this award,” reported Martin Ruoff, General Manager, Atlas Copco Industrial Technique, Central Europe, and Felix Maier, General Manager of the Atlas Copco Industrial Technique Motor Vehicle Industry Division. They pointed out that many Atlas Copco colleagues have contributed to this fantastic success and without their intensive efforts the company would not have won the award.
Vast range of innovative solutions
The Award motivation mentioned Atlas Copco’s excellently organized management and the company’s vast range of innovative assembly tool solutions. The German team see the award as confirmation of their long-term commitment as a strategic partner to the automobile industry.
“We equipped the first A-Class vehicle assembly lines at the Rastatt factory with our tightening technology more than a decade ago,” says Felix Maier. “Today we have a worldwide presence in all Daimler factories. In many of them we have on-site workshops to provide the best possible service with closest possible proximity to the customer.”
The annual Daimler Supplier Award recognizes outstanding performance in the areas of quality, costs, logistics, technology, and innovation. Daimler has defined these value drivers as well as the principles for supplier collaboration in its globally standardized cooperation model known as the Daimler Supplier Network.
