Bath, Banes, United Kingdom, 2012/03/30 - Future Music, the world’s premier magazine for music production, has created a fully enhanced digital edition with embedded video and audio content available as an app on the Apple Newsstand - Futureplc.com. LSE: FUTR
The move represents the total synchronisation of Future Music’s app and its print version, which carries the same content on its cover-mounted DVD. It comes in response to overwhelming demand from print readers and the 600,000 music producers who have already downloaded the brand’s Apple Newsstand app.
As well as the ability to stream tutorials, video interviews and ‘In The Studio’ features direct from the pages of their digital edition, all readers can access the content via the new Future Digital Vault, which will also hold the exclusive free-to-use samples and audio that accompany Future Music’s lessons and reviews.
Future brands such as Guitarist and T3 already exist in fully interactive iPad editions, requiring highly complex coding, but Future Music is the first of Future’s brands to add streaming video and audio to the standard ‘page-turner’ app format.
The technology that makes this latest innovation possible was developed in-house, and enables Future to rapidly create enhanced digital editions of its entire portfolio.
The first enhanced issue of Future Music is available now via Apple Newsstand from £3.99. Sales are already higher than the UK print edition. The development sets Future Music up for a significant international push, as readers who have struggled to find the title around the world are able to access the full experience direct from Apple Newsstand. Future will now look to create local-language versions of the title for key markets.
