PRZOOM - /newswire/ - Poynton, Cheshire, United Kingdom, 2012/02/27 - Bath and East Somerset Council will improve purchase-to-pay efficiency by implementing an intelligent data capture solution from document management and imaging company, Version One - VersionOne.co.uk.

This solution, DbCapture, is being piloted in one of the Council’s largest departments in April 2012 with full go-live expected by October 2012.

Version One’s DbCapture, which will be integrated into the Council’s Agresso Business World enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from UNIT4, will automatically capture 70% of data from 50,000 purchase invoices processed by the Council every year. The implementation forms part of a wider project to standardise, streamline and centralise the Council’s financial processes.

Version One’s DbCapture uses optical character recognition (OCR) technology to automatically capture data from scanned purchase invoices, significantly reducing manual data entry. This data is verified against the ERP system with any data discrepancies instantly flagged-up to the user. The invoice data is subsequently uploaded to Agresso Business World.
