London, United Kingdom, 2012/02/22 - Is awarded G-Cloud framework agreements for the supply of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS) and Specialist Cloud Services - Attenda.net.
Attenda Limited, the Business Critical IT company, today announced that it has successfully been awarded G-Cloud framework agreements, in all four categories, for the supply of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS) and Specialist Cloud Services.
G-Cloud is the UK Government's programme to drive down cost through the creation of a shared framework of cloud-based solutions and services, including public and private cloud, that are aimed to be ready and easy to use, offer flexibility and freedom of choice; and to do away with the requirement for long term contracts.
Commenting on the G-Cloud announcement, Tim Foxlow, VP Sales, Attenda says,"We are delighted that we have been selected to join the G-Cloud community across all four solutions and services categories. G-Cloud is an essential part of our strategy to increase penetration within the public sector IT services market over the next three years, as government departments and local authorities look to consolidate and innovate in the delivery of their IT services."
G-Cloud is aimed at creating a competitive marketplace, with a range of service providers offering the best IT services and solutions available, from smaller SME organisations with niche solutions to large scale hosting and computing resources; making it easier for government and suppliers to work together. Information about all of the G-Cloud solutions and services will be held in an online catalogue, enabling potential public sector buyers to search easily for the services they require.
Jonathon Carr-Brown, Managing Director (Capita Health) of NHS Choices said: "The G-Cloud concept has the potential to provide public sector organisations with the ability to embrace Cloud services alongside trusted service providers and with solutions that are already assured for security, performance and service management."
He added: "The way NHS Choices is delivered will change dramatically in the coming years. Attenda's success in qualifying for this framework means that Capita will have much more scope to discuss the future of NHS Choices IT services. Defining and delivering the right Cloud service solutions at the right cost is going to be vital for NHS Choices future. The Cloud promises greater agility, responsiveness and should improve the end user experience."
G-Cloud fits naturally into Attenda's cloud services strategy and portfolio, providing public sector organisations with enterprise-class managed private, public and hybrid cloud services, from Attenda data centres (attenda.net) or on premise. This approach leverages the best of private and public cloud computing, whilst optimising security, availability, cost and agility.
