Al-Sorayai Group has implemented Oracle® Retail Merchandising and Stores applications in only six months to support the launch of its new furniture retail concept, HomeStyle, in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Sorayai, which manufactures carpets and rugs, has expanded its business to provide home furnishings and HomeStyle is the latest concept aimed at strengthening the Group’s retail offering.
With an aggressive growth strategy in place, Al-Sorayai is using the Oracle Retail applications to automate retail processes between head office and the growing number of retail outlets, and to collaborate better with suppliers to ensure supply meets demand.
Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Oracle Retail Invoice Matching, Oracle Retail Sales Audit and Oracle Retail Price Management are coordinating merchandising operations, providing enhanced visibility to inventory throughout the business, and driving assortment, pricing and replenishment decisions that optimize margins and reduce inventory costs.
Al-Sorayai has implemented a standardized store operations platform comprising Oracle Retail Point-of-Service, Oracle Retail Back Office, Oracle Retail Central Office and Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management to provide a consistent customer experience based on insight into store and item performance and customer purchasing decisions.
After evaluating Microsoft and SAP, Al-Sorayai selected Oracle Retail based on its strong retail functionality, scalability to support rapidly growing businesses and integration with its existing Oracle E-Business Suite Financials.
In addition, Al-Sorayai was able to take an accelerated implementation approach, deploying the Oracle Retail applications with minimal changes to benefit from the in-built retail processes quickly.
Versant Technologies, a Gold level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), supported the implementation.
“Oracle’s accelerated implementation tools and in-built best practice has enabled us to deploy a retail platform within six months, which is a major achievement,” said Abdulatif Bakhahdlag, Group IT Consultant, Al-Sorayai Group. “In addition, the Oracle applications provide a holistic view of our business, enabling us to make decisions that continually improve the customer experience and deliver value to our shareholders, as we grow.”
“When launching a new retail concept, the customer experience has to be excellent,” said Will O’Brien, Vice President EMEA, Oracle Retail. “The Oracle Retail platform enables organisations to optimize their operations, make decisions based on actionable business insights and connect customer interactions to drive that superior experience that will support the growth of the business.”
