NAVTEQ, the leading global provider of maps, traffic and location data enabling navigation, location-based services and mobile advertising around the world, has developed a Dealer Online Centre (DoC) for Nissan in the GCC. Using this web portal, dealers across the region have instant access to map updates for their Nissan and Infiniti customers.
In response to the rapidly changing and developing road network in the GCC, NAVTEQ has seen an increasing demand for map updates. Providing those updates quickly and efficiently is an important factor in developing customer satisfaction and loyalty. In addition, for navigation systems to continue operating at their very best, it is essential for drivers to use the latest data. The system can only be as good as the map information inside it. With the addition of new roads, junctions, by-passes and motorway exits and thousands of other details, even familiar routes can alter year to year.
“At Nissan and Infiniti in the Middle East we are delighted with this initiative to provide map updates via a fast and efficient online portal. By ordering and activating map updates through NAVTEQ’s DoC, our dealers can make them instantly available to customers.” commented Mr. Hideki Tsukiori, Aftersales General Manager - Nissan Middle East FZE.
With the DoC, each dealer is supplied with encoded master discs and simply goes online to purchase the individual activation code for a particular vehicle by entering the VIN number. This eliminates the need for dealers to import updates for customers who can now purchase and receive products on demand.
“With its extensive global experience in providing key distribution support, NAVTEQ has been able to develop a service which is tailored to the demands of the region,” added Ghassan Freij, NAVTEQ General Manager MENA. “The new DoC represents a great step forward for Nissan Middle East in terms of map update distribution and the associated potential revenue stream. At the same time, the company can remain focused on its core business leaving NAVTEQ to handle the operation of the centre.”
